August has been an oppressively hot month, and to beat the heat we met up with the Manichans to visit the tide pools at the Abalone Cove Shoreline. It became a popular pandemic field trip for many in the city so we had to get there at 9am when it opened to get parking.
The walk down to the water was a bit steep but all the kids made it down without slipping.
The kids explored all the rocks and spotted a bunch of sea snails and a sea star.
We spent the rest of the afternoon playing in the water and just trying to avoid all the other people at the beach.
